Georgia Senate runoff campaign for 2022
We're writing letters to voters in Georgia for the December 6 runoff election.
Thank you for joining us in once again writing letters to voters in Georgia to encourage them to vote in a key runoff election for the U.S. Senate! Here are a few key points to keep in mind:
Based on consultation with partners and others in Georgia, we believe it's very important that our letters for these campaigns do not focus on the national stakes. This means you should refrain from writing about Mitch McConnell, "control of the Senate," etc. Georgia voters are making a choice about who will represent them in the Senate, and your message must respect that.
With only a few weeks before Election Day on December 6, we are asking that you send your letters as soon they're ready — no need to hold onto them for a single mail date as we did earlier this year for The Big Send.
We expect that there will be significant interest from volunteers in participating in these campaigns. When you "adopt" a voter, you are making a commitment to write and send a letter to that voter, and you are removing them from the pool to be adopted by another volunteer. Please adopt only as many voters as you are certain you can follow through on.
And Some General Reminders
Keep in mind that, as usual, your handwritten messages should be nonpartisan to have the highest possible impact. We believe such messages are more effective than partisan messaging for "get out the vote" communications, and that there is a strong possibility that overly partisan messages will have the opposite of the effect you intend. If you cannot follow this guideline, we would encourage you to instead seek out volunteer activities like phone banking where the script and design of the effort overall includes an explicit plea to vote for Senator Warnock.
As always, please use only the letter templates Vote Forward provides and prepare your letters according to the instructions. This helps ensure the integrity of our analyses of the impact of your letters.
Lastly, every letter sent to someone on a Vote Forward mailing list must include the voter's unique code, which is in the small print; these codes allow letter recipients to opt-out of future mailings. Do not use the addresses we provide you to send postcards.
Thank you for all of your efforts!
We appreciate you.
