Volunteer-driven actions grounded in real human connection

We can measurably strengthen our democracy by rebuilding trust in government and increasing voter participation.

We envision a country where every American receives the support they need to participate in democracy—and where every volunteer can take proven actions to strengthen it.

Democracy erodes when people stop believing government works for them and when they stop participating in elections. These two problems reinforce each other.

Distrust depresses turnout. Low turnout leads to slim majorities that fail to deliver for voters. This deepens voter distrust further, fewer people end up voting, and the cycle repeats.

Vote Forward addresses both problems, in parallel, through volunteer-driven action.

Our objectives:

Turning out voters
We’re identifying the next generation of volunteer-driven voter contact tactics to scale for 2028—and testing them where our model has proven impact.

Rebuilding trust in government
We’re connecting voters with their elected officials to restore trust in government and expand civic participation.

Meeting people’s material needs
We’re piloting volunteer programs that solve real problems in communities, creating a new on-ramp to lasting democratic participation.

Learning, innovating,
and leading the way.

There’s too much at stake to keep doing the same old thing. Figuring out what works requires experimentation and testing. Together with our volunteers, donors, and partners, we’re shaping the future of voter contact to increase voter participation and save democracy.
